Latest information regarding the Feed-in Tariff
On 21 December 2011 the High Court found that the proposal by The Department of Energy and Climate Change to lower the Feed-in Tariff (FiT) rates applying only to solar electricity installations with an Eligibility Date on or after the reference date of 12 December 2011 (effectively cutting the tariff before the consultation on the proposed cuts has ended) is unlawful.
The judge also refused DECC’s leave to appeal against the judgement.
DECC is now seeking permission to appeal against a High Court ruling and the hearing of this application will be “rolled-up” so that the application for permission to appeal and, if it is granted, the appeal itself will be held on the same day. The date of the hearing is 13 January 2012

Mr & Mrs S Pratt, Cambs
Stepp Energy have been fully professional and helpful, they have helped us to achieve savings on our hot water bill and are recommended to anyone who is looking to use this company.
The projected savings will help us to pay for our annual holiday and also help to prolong the life of our oil fired boiler.
P Wilmott, Saffron Walden
Stepp Energy has installed 2 solar panel arrays for me which I am very pleased with. There were a number of initial problems before the installation could start due to the condition of my roof (the house is over 100 years old) and the very bad weather, but once it was underway I was impressed by the work that was done. Stepp Energy went out of their way to ensure that everything was done properly, using quality components and not cutting corners to get the job finished. The output from the arrays has been in line with quoted figures and is increasing weekly with longer brighter days.
R Hunter, Bourne
We are very pleased with Stepp Energy and the quality of service they have given us from start to finish, the product they supplied was of a very high quality and meets all the requirements we were looking for in a solar panel, the long term performance data and the fact that the panel manufacturers have over 50 years experience in the solar industry convinced us that we were making the right choice with Stepp Energy
